We woke up at the community painting centre in Zalipie and enjoyed the sunshine after the colder days in the mountains.

After breakfast we went into the centre and saw all the painting on the walls inside. 

There was a small montage on women who had passed away. 

We then move onto the museum of the famous painter Felicia Curylowa (1903-74).

Glenn and I arrived in time to catch the 11am tour of the cottages. Unfortunately Sean’s and Lisa arrived too late to be allowed on. It was probably because our tour group was at its maximum size for the small cottages. 

The painting inside was amazing – on every surface. I particularly liked the old range used for cooking and heating. The first cottage had 2 rooms. 

The second cottage had an area for animals at the entry. It then had only 1 major room with a tool shed area. 

The third thatched shed had painting only on the outside. 

We saw some interesting sights outside.

We then moved onto the church. It was again amazing that painting covered every surface. 

The small chapel was beautiful.

After that we had a short drive to the centre of a large town to find a good Speedqueen laundrette to get our washing done. It was incredibly fast – 20 minutes wash followed by 10 minutes dry to get to a just damp feeling. We couldn’t do another 10 minutes as we wanted to get out of town before the traffic built up. 

Our next destination was the small town of Brzoza Krolewska which was a free park on a lake. There were a few vans around including a couple of permanents – not sure that the houses behind would have been happy with that. 

It was a lovely setting with a few birds around. 

We hung up the washing and got into planning the bbq.  Glenn added holes to the charcoal holder to try to make our bbq work better.

It seemed to have improved it.

We had local kransky sausages, haloumi with lots of vegetables. 

There were a few teenagers arriving and some playing very loud music. This is always the risk in a free spot. Luckily they left by 9.30pm and we weren’t disturbed for the rest of the night.
