We enjoyed our breakfast in the sun beside the lake watching herons and ducks. We then got packed up and headed to the nearest Lidl for a big stock up. 

Afterwards Lisa and Sean headed for the campsite next to Roztocze National Park.

Glenn and I headed to a capercaillie breeding facility. They are becoming very rare. Unfortunately the capercaillies had just been moved out to be released so we had just missed them. The woman there was very friendly and that her daughter was working in Sydney. 

She told us that they had bred 6 boy and 15 girl capercaillies. After a bit of a discussion we drove off to join Sean and Lisa at Roztocze  National Park.

We arrived at a huge campsite in Zwierzyniec. We had lunch and a bit of a rest then went for a 25 km bike ride in the national park. 

Very soon saw the Polish horses that are closely related to the wild tarpan horses. There is a breeding program here.

We then cycled along the wide track through the middle of the beautiful forest.

We went through the Florianka area where the horses are stabled and looked after. We then continued to a small town at the other side of the national park. After a short ride through town we retraced our steps. 

We stopped at Echo Lake – on Echo beach! Unfortunately the lack of water didn’t allow anyone to go for a swim. 

Glenn saw a couple of herons and egrets but not much else.

We then continued into town and as we were passing we had to go for a beer at the historic brewery that has been functioning since 1806. They run it as a beer garden in the evening and then have free outdoor movies in the summer. It didn’t start until 9pm so a bit late for us. We enjoyed the pilsner beer. 

We then headed back to the vans. Sean did very good hamburgers on the bbq. It was also warm enough to sit outside for dinner – that we haven’t been able to do for some time.
