I woke up at my usual early hour of 5.30am – I haven’t quite adjusted to UK time – and decided to go for a walk. It then took me an hour to get out of the Fort Knox secure house – no keys being immediately obvious.

At last I escaped and had a ramble down the back lanes of Wellington, Somerset with lovely views.

I returned through the small nature reserve next to the housing estate where the rare crested newt lives. It’s quite a lovely area and well looked after by volunteers.

After breakfast we excitedly went to reunite with Gus who we hadn’t seen since November last year. He was in excellent condition tucked up in his secure storage area with all the other vans – he is the Dethleffs one just to the right of the car.

Gus started first time and we drove back to my brother’s place to sort things out. I cleaned the carpets with 2 years of dirt – and Glenn sorted out the massive amount of stuff in the back garage – including our 2 bicycles. Gus is now ready to go for his service, MOT and habitation check on Wednesday.

Glenn then experimented with his new camera in the back yard.

We had a quiet evening after all that excitement!
