Gdansk Rest Days

We got up late after our big day at Malbork and drove off to Gdansk. Our first stop was a good SpeedQueen launderette with large , efficient, electronic controlled machines where we got all our washing up to date.

Then we went on to a Lidl for a stock up. We saw these on the way.

Our last stop was the Stogi 114 campsite near the beach which has good facilities but has vans quite close together. It’s very busy for this time of year with vans coming and going all the time. We had a bit of a relax. Lisa made a very good and interesting thai fish dish with a health food powder mix, coconut milk, barley and mashed sweet potato. We were soon in bed.

Next day we had a rest day catching up on our blogs and journals. Sean went on a bike ride. Glenn went for a long bike ride to a bird reserve and got some photos.

Incoming ! A white tail sea eagle lines up some coots but alas no luck .. Black swans so far north .. some little grebes , a crested grebe , black swans so far and tufted ducks .

After catching up on my blogs I peeled a lot of small apples we got from an apple tree in Lidzbark Warminski and made an apple crumble. It was an effort – but worth it.
The main course was an Ottolenghi shepherds pie with harissa – also going in the oven. It heated the van up.
After dinner we had the energy to play the card game 5 Crowns. It’s always good fun – and I won!! Most of us then went to bed relatively early. But Lisa stayed up to get up to date on her journal – a big effort!
