We headed off to Somerset and stopped for lunch at another National Trust property Durham Park.
It’s a bit of a walk to the house from the carpark – and we took the long way via the lookout over the countryside with the Severn Bridge in the distance.

We then walked down to the house

After a lunch of cheese abd onion pasties- all they had left – we checked out the garden. The pear trees were heavily laden. It’s quite a lovely garden.

After a quick walk around we climbed back up the hill the more direct way back to the carpark.
It was then just over an hour to Wellington in Somerset. Grant and Anne welcomed us with cocktails, beer and dinner. We had a nice warm evening beside the real fire. It was good to relax before our big clean and sort out of Gus in the next few days.
