It was a quiet night despite the number of boats all right next to each other.
Angela went out early shopping and found the boulangerie – but despite asking people couldn’t find the supermarket. But the purchases from the boulangerie were good!

The views around the marina are very lovely.

Today we continued south on the way to Pannecot. Everyone was ready for more lock action.

We went under some low bridges.

We saw many lovely views – and the cycle path is well used by travelling cyclists.

Glenn got relaxed again waiting for a lock to open.

There was a shocking change of leadership from the Germans to the Australians.

There weren’t many locks on the home stretch coming into Pannecot so it was much more relaxing.

We got moored up for the night in the very beautiful setting and had a lovely French afternoon tea.

Only 1 other boat came in. There was also a campsite there with a few campers. There was a fish ladder going down to the river Aron that runs next to the canal at different levels. There is also a restaurant there – but it was closed. The toilet block was ancient – looking like it came from the 1950s.
The girls then went to lie down and read a book while Oli went for a run and Glenn went for a big walk to a nearby pond. Oli ran the other way down the canal and had to avoid a huge ferocious looking German shepherd. Glenn trudged through mud and had to walk over a railway line to get back after 2 hours.
Here is what he saw.

It had started raining by the time the boys got back. In the meantime the girls had had a shower and cooked a vegetable curry and a dhal. Once everyone was washed we first had a kir royale and then sat down to dinner.

It had rained all evening but then stopped so it was then nice and quiet for us going to bed.
