After the rain overnight in Imst it was not warm. The swimming bath next door wasn’t tempting so we decided on a walk around town.
We found the Pfarrkirsche church from the 1400s that had a lot of ancient decoration on the outside and the inside.

We then wandered down the Main Street with the huge mountains always in the background.

We found a stream with a large disc sculpture over it. There was a strange covered walkway with little dugouts from under there into the shale wall.

There were other old buildings and views up the valley on our way to collect the van. It was now nice and sunny after the gloomy start to the day.

We got on the road. After about an hour we saw a huge castle on top of a distant hill.

When we were close to it we saw a huge swing bridge to get there. That would be a big challenge for people with vertigo!

The mountains were still with us as we drove on.

After a couple of hours driving we arrived at the aire in Tunau on the edge of Lake Constance. It happened to be at a beer garden so we had to try one.

Even though the clouds were looking threatening we got on our bicycles to check out the lake and the area.
We got some good photos from a point before the marina.

We then continued to the marina and saw 2 airships circling each other. There is a zeppelin museum in a nearby town – apparently including pieces of the Hindenburg that crashed. Luckily those 2 were fine.

It was a short cycle to the village of Langenargen with many hotels on the lakeside.
Ferries leave from here to go to the other side of the lake – which is Switzerland.

We then cycled quickly back to the van as it was getting blacker. We got into the van just as the first raindrops were coming down. The aire had filled up a bit but still only half full. It’s definitely quietened down as the holiday season is ending in Europe.
Glenn got excited as there was a fly in the van. He watched his pet spider come out and get it.

I think it will starve in the winter!
We had a very quiet night as the cows next door had gone to sleep.
