We started the day with a very calm swim in the swimming lake. It was only us – so it was quite lovely with no ripples.
Site checkout was 11am so we had 2 hours to kill before our 1pm appointment at the repair shop. This was to get the fridge working on gas – required when we are off grid.
We found a shady spot and had some downtime before arriving at the service centre.
We then had to wait 3 hours until the work was done. Unfortunately it was over 30 degrees and we were in the middle of nowhere so we had to wait it out.
After Gus was ready we went to pay the bill. I only had visa credit cards – that they don’t accept. So we had to go to the nearby ATM and get cash out. Thankfully we could do this so dashed back, paid the bill and were relieved to drive off.
We said goodbye to the Lech River.

After all this heatwave weather there were storms coming and we saw them nearby.

We were soon close to Schongau in the south of Germany.

It looked like a very old town – actually established around the year 1000 by the Celts.
We arrived and got settled in and relaxed after all our palaver.

We then went uptown – up a large number of stairs to the historic centre to find something to eat. The buildings are old and well maintained – all slightly different colours.

Glenn found an Eros statue and had to copy it.

We then heard some music and found a summer festival underway in the middle of the main street. There was live music and weisbeer and Aperol spritz being served along with German food so we had found a great spot for dinner.

We enjoyed a couple of drinks and schnitzel and currywurst – German fast food really!
As things were winding up at 10pm we wound ourselves down the stairs back to the aire for the night.
