Partying in Mainz

We started off the day with a coffee on the outside patio with Angela.

Oli had unfortunately gone to work. Today we were celebrating Angela’s 60th birthday- a few months too late but this is when she had planned her big party.

Glenn and I spent the day washing clothes and getting Gus sorted out while Ange went to the hairdresser. Midafternoon we all then went into Mainz town for Angela to get her makeup done – and for us to have a look around.

There was a little stall set up by old white males petitioning that state TV tells lies. This is part of the right wing propaganda going around Germany.

We then went for the party – a party boat on the Rhine! Angela had invited 35 of her friends. We all had something to eat and then went upstairs to dance it off. We all had a great time!!

The DJ announced Angela’s birthday- no number was said so she told strangers she was 37 and got away with it. Well done Ange!

We enjoyed chatting with Ange’s friends. Christina and her husband had just come back from Scotland and loved it. They must have got good weather 😊

These are the views once things had quietened down and we were about to get off the boat.

Angela’s friend Marcus had made her this lamb cake – which we celebrated and ate up when we got home.

That was a very different day for us!!
